Training Project Manager

Borderland Rainbow Center

$20 an hour

This is a grant-funded position. The trainer will be responsible for providing training to medical, mental health and social service providers in the El Paso/ Las Cruces area regarding varying LGBTQ topics. The trainer will work with a wide variety of audiences and will coordinate with the Rainbow Mythbuster’s Training Coordinator. Trainings may consist of one time session short presentations, workshops of varying length, and training series with training activities offered on on-going basis. The trainer must document work performed and archive all presentations created or modified, which will be the sole property of the Borderland Rainbow Center. The trainer will be paid for training time only. Paid orientation and “training the trainer” work shop will also be provided. Trainer is required to speak Spanish and be comfortable with learning LGBTQ terms in both English and Spanish.

Additional Qualification Required:

Must have a flexible schedule, weekends and evenings may be required
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Experience doing outreach to diverse populations

Basic crisis management skills
Ability to provide presentations to a wide variety of audiences, including professionals, medical
personnel, non-profit employees, business people, civic groups, etc.
High level of professionalism, awareness of appropriate comportment with varying groups (some requiring a high level of formality, some which require a more informal approach), awareness of personal boundaries and of scope of function of the trainer
Familiarity with the LGBTQ community
Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Computer Skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
Awareness of the intersections of LGBTQ and Borderland culture, addiction, mental illness, trauma,
health, and homelessness
Ability to meet training requirements for the position, including learning new skills and information
Access to reliable transportation
Must have valid State Identification or Driver’s License (required to access high school campuses)

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $20.00 /hour
