Position Summary:
The Integrative Yoga Clinical Psychotherapist is accountable directly to the Director of Behavioral Health. The candidate works with other treatment partners in a coordinated, comprehensive, multi- disciplinary approach. Provides services as necessary to enable clients to meet the goals and to reach their maximu level of recovery, inclusive of yoga practices when appropriate. The candidate provides effective and efficient short-term and long-term psychotherapy services, screening, and crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and/or adults based on privileging. Clinician also provides family (non-couples) and group counseling. This is a part-time position.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Completes intake and psychosocial assessments for all referred patients following COH protocols.
  • Screens for depression (/PHQ-2/PHQ-9), anxiety (GAD-7), substance use (AUDIT-C +), level of care (LOCUS/CALOCUS) and trauma (PCL/PTSD-5) quarterly as per the clients treatment plan due date, or more frequently if clinically necessary.
  • Completes a treatment plan for all short-term therapy clients by the 2nd scheduled session and for long-term therapy clients by the 4th scheduled session
  • Monitors client progress through the course of treatment, reevaluating and adapting the treatment plan at required intervals. Treatment Plan should be updated at least every 3 months or more frequently as appropriate.
  • Ensures patient safety by following COH policies for contacting Child and Family Services Administration, Adult Protective Services, Mobile Crisis, and/or 911 when appropriate. Creates patient safety contracts as appropriate
  • Helps identify and address related problems affecting health of client, such as housing, vocational rehabilitation, and social integration, and coordinates service delivery with other health center staff and community providers.
  • Coordinates care with treating psychiatrist and any additional providers and or supports, to include PCP, teachers, school counselors, core service agencies, etc
  • Maintains appropriate scheduling and files in eCW, including progress notes, telephone encounters, virtual visit notes, and any document needing to be uploaded via patient docs within eCW
  • Assesses each individual client using qualitative and/or quantitative yoga related assessment tools.
  • Uses the assessment process to identify any risk factors or contraindications to ensure the safety and appropriateness of the integrative yoga intervention and to develop an appropriate therapeutic plan.
  • Develops a therapeutic plan and/or provides advice within the integrative yoga framework in accordance with the individual client’s needs, goals, learning style, life circumstances, and access to resources such as time and equipment.
  • Teaches an integrated set of practices aligned with the needs and goals of the individual and consistent with the integrative yoga framework. Includes yoga practices such as asana (postures), pranayama (breath-work), relaxation, meditation, mudra (energetic gestures and seals), bandha (energy locks), mantra (sacred sounds), mindfulness, bhavana (imagery), sankalpa (affirmation/intention), yogic lifestyle, and dietary advice according to the yoga therapy framework, education in yoga philosophy, and other practices in the yoga tradition
  • Completes and locks all assessments and progress notes within 3 business days after patient visit.
  • Documents all patient encounters, including face to face, telephone, and electronic communications, in the medical record in a timely fashion
Minimum Qualifications:
  • LICSW, LPC, or comparable license required
  • Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification required, C-IAYT preferred
  • Understand and integrate medical diagnoses provided by healthcare professionals with yoga practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel between sites required.
  • This position may require evening or weekend hours depending on client needs
  • Experience with electronic health records preferred.
