Who We Need

The Learning and Development Specialist works collaboratively with new hires, members of human resources, and the hiring managers to ensure a smooth and successful onboarding experience for all Copa Health new hires. This person will be responsible for tracking new hires and communicating throughout their first year with Copa Health with the goal of improving retention and employee engagement. This person will be the primary person for coordinating and facilitating new employee orientation training as well as providing technical and administrative support to the agency’s HR learning and development program. The ideal candidate would demonstrate superior interpersonal skills in the following areas: tactfulness, maturity, flexibility, resourcefulness, professionalism, and diplomacy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED

At least one (1) year of demonstrated experience in an administrative role.

Preferred: experience in the healthcare/human services or human resources field.

Proficient level of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.

Experience with office software such as Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Survey Monkey, Photoshop, Zoom, etc.

Experience using Learning Management and Human Capital Management software.

Ability to complete and maintain the instructor certification for CPR/First Aid/AED

Must be able to obtain and maintain Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and successfully pass background checks.

Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen.

Must have an active and valid driver’s license that meets agency driver eligibility requirements.

Current CPR/FA trainer credentials, preferred.

Other talent development / HR certification (SHRM, PHR, ATD…) preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Facilitation of both classroom and virtual training including new employee orientation, CPR, systems overview, and others as needed.

Prepares for all aspects of virtual training including sending zoom invites, virtual handouts, monitoring enrollment and ensuring that all employees are able to access their scheduled training with the appropriate technology.

Assists employees with minor technical support for Zoom, Relias, and other systems.

Manages the training calendar to ensure that scheduling is provided in a timely and accurate manner.

Communicates with the recruitment team to identify new hires training needs and develop a comprehensive training agenda prior to their first day of work.

Prepares for all aspects of live training including scheduling, space preparation, material preparation, and evaluation administration.

Assists with the administration of our LMS including data entry and reporting.

Communicates with new hires and supervisors to provide direction, support, and education regarding training requirements and use of the learning management software.

Prepares and sends out training schedules and materials to new hires who are attending training remotely.

Coordinates with the HR records department to ensure accurate training data is available for potential audits.

Collaborates with program leadership to ensure that training compliance is maintained and that licensing specific non-compliance is communicated to HR leadership.

Provides feedback to supervisors of new hires and the HR department to ensure open communication between teams of potential needs and concerns.

Administers evaluations and provides reports to HR leadership for use in developing initiatives.

Supports, communicates, and demonstrates Copa Health’s core values as one of the new hire’s first points of contact.

Assists with other training and HR duties as needed.
