Seven Oaks Academy is a family owned and operated preschool with a dynamic history of serving our local community in Lilburn, GA since 1988. We are interviewing for a GA Pre-K Lead Teacher for the 2020 – 2021.MINIMUM of 1 year of GA Pre-K experience is required. Lead Teachers must also be enrolled in the Professional Development Registry (PDR). This position is only offered to Lead GA Pre-K teachers with previous experience in a GA Pre-K classroom, be leveled and be willing to subscribe to Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). Only highly efficient team players should apply for this position. We currently have three GA Pre-K classrooms.
A MINIMUM of 3 years of GA Pre-K experience is required and the minimum education requirement for a Georgia Pre-K lead teacher is a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or PSC certification.
LEAD Pre-K Teacher, MUST be familiar with WSO AND QUALITY RATED. MUST, MUST, MUST be a team player and versatile. Please bring samples of work you have done, BFTS rating from observation reports if you have them, your degree, transcript and other supplemental material that would help create a picture of who you are.

The lead teacher will prepare and implement the weekly lesson plans using the High Scope Curriculum.You MUST be fluent in the IQ Guides and oversee and direct the daily preparation and maintenance of the classroom area.Maintain and prepare evaluation and observation records of the children in the classroom for teacher/parent conferences and Bright From The Start records. Plan developmentally appropriate activities for the children in conjunction with the assistant teacher.Arrange a plan for an environment that the best meets the individual child’s developmental needs.Assist children with meeting and maintaining physical needs. Contribute equally in the housekeeping tasks. Attend all staff meetings and required or recommended training programs and conferences.Participate in professional organizations that work toward the improvement of early childhood education.Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Coordinate and provide on-site technical assistance (observation and consultation) and group workshops for child care programs.
Develop individual plan of improvement for each child care program in projects.
Develop and/or provide training sessions based on needs identified within the community.
Complete monthly reports.
Participate in the planning and execution of community events.
Meet all deliverables as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum of BA in Early Childhood Education or PSC certification. Please provide copy of transcript and paper degree awarded at interview. Extensive training will be required and you should be ready to “jump right in”. Please let us know if you have your COGENT screening. Please bring in your PDS at the time of your interview. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must pass a successful criminal background check and drug test. Must be able to lift children up to 55 pounds.Friendly personality; must be able to relate well to both children and adults.Must be flexible.Must be willing to fulfill his/her responsibilities in accordance with Seven Oaks Academy and Bright From The Start, Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Bachelor required). Dedicated to on-going professional development.
Georgia Approved Trainer, preferred. Please submit a copy of your training approval letter.
Experience working in a child care settings.
Strong organization skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills (written and oral).
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Bright From the Start regulations, Quality Rated system, Environmental Rating Scales and Georgia State Funded Pre-K system.
Knowledge of National Accreditation standards and assessment tools including the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC),
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Consistently standing for 2 hours or more delivering training.
Sitting at the computer for 3 hours or more at a time.
Bending, frequent use of hands, stooping and moderate lifting (at least 25 pounds) required.
Noise level in the work environment may be high at times.
Valid driver’s license and personal transportation required.
Available to work occasional nights and weekends.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently.
Available to travel (50%-70%)
