The Phoenix - Sober Active Community

The Phoenix’s mission is to foster a supportive, physically active community for individuals who are recovering from a substance use disorder and for those who choose to live sober. Through activities such as CrossFit, climbing, hiking, yoga, boxing, and meditation, participants build confidence, self-respect, and community. The Phoenix offers free programs for anyone with 48 hours of sobriety, operating in 46 communities across the country and for people around the globe virtually. Since 2006, we have served 40,000 individuals.

The primary responsibility of the Program Coordinator is to drive Phoenix volunteer-led programming in Milwaukee and the surrounding community. This role will deploy Phoenix’s program activation strategy, which includes recruiting and establishing volunteer instructors, ensuring quality programming, and engaging in community relations, marketing, and fundraising. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and ability to instruct in one or more athletic disciplines such as CrossFit, rock climbing, yoga, hiking, cycling, social events, mountain biking, running or boxing. The Phoenix is a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment requiring employees to be flexible and adaptable to ever changing situations. A strong connection to The Phoenix mission and commitment to leading by example are critical to this position; preference will be given to those with personal experience in recovery from alcohol or a substance use disorder.
