Job Title: Certified Personal Trainer – Part-Time

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.
Position Purpose: The West Chester Area YMCA is looking for a Personal Trainer to develop and conduct personal training sessions and help transform our members’ fitness levels.
Conduct personal training sessions and fitness assessments as scheduled and provide training in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner
Follow YMCA of Greater Brandywine guidelines for screening personal training clients
Report to scheduled sessions on time and be available to provide assistance
Ensure the proper exercise techniques are utilized by all members
Report any mechanical or breakdown problems immediately to supervisor and document
Build relationships with personal training clients and solicit members to participate in personal training program
Promote a healthy lifestyle
Understand, follow and enforce all wellness center policies
Participate in special events and open houses
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health and fitness and/or pursing a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or health-related field
Possess and maintain a personal training certification from a nationally accredited association. Approved organizations/certifications: NSCA (CSCS and CPT), ACSM (HFI, CPT, Exercise Specialist), NASM (CPT), AFAA (V3), ACE (CPT)
Knowledge of basic and advanced exercise principles required
Must be 18 years of age or older
